HONKY TONK’S TAVERN

Honky Tonks Tavern is a contemporary take on a traditional American saloon bar. A constrained budget and an open minded client yielded an opportunity engage with the as-found site more directly. The design grew from the client’s own requirements for a comfortable and adaptable space. The bar is situated in the middle of the room, with a sunken floor, with a raw steel gantry overhead, hosting a variety of vintage liquor bottles.
We adopted a much more traditional approach to this site, when it came to designing and situating the furniture, setting-out the bar and furniture positions with drafting tape, drawing 1:1 details in-situ. The furniture, including the custom designed booths and tables, were designed on site, and built from recycled ash wood.BRASH ATELIER
